Text Box: Message from Will Rogers, Solicitor It has been a long time goal to serve as Solicitor. For the past 11 years, I have prosecuted cases throughout the Fourth Circuit as Assistant Solicitor. When Jay Hodge announced his retirement last year, I knew the time had come to put my years of experience on the line for the people of the Fourth Circuit. When I ran for Solicitor, I promised the people of the Fourth Circuit that I would continue to prosecute violent criminals and seek stiff sentences for them. But I also believe that non-violent first time and youthful offenders deserve a second chance to turn their lives around. I will continue the Fourth Circuit alternative programs, especially Drug Court, Equine Therapy and Youth Arts. The safety of our citizens is my primary concern. I am aware of a growing gang problem in our area and plan to work with law enforcement and community members to establish a gang task force to identify and control the growth of gangs. As a husband and father, I am committed to our youth and will work to establish truancy programs and youth courts to help keep our youth in school and on the right track. Sincerely, William B.
